Amphoprim® Injection is an antibiotic injection containing Trimethoprim and Sulphadimethyl pyrimidine. It’s used to treat bacterial infections in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, dogs and cats.

  • Can be administered by subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous injection.
  • Broad-spectrum.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

  • Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and horses: inject 1 ml/15 kg bodyweight daily, in the upper neck, by subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous injection, for 3 - 5 days.
  • For intramuscular or subcutaneous injections over 5 ml - administer at two or more injection sites. The recommended dose should not be exceeded in horses.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS

It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds.

  • Milk (cattle): 48 hours / 4 milkings
  • Milk (sheep and goats): 35 days
  • Meat (cattle, sheep, goats and pigs): 5 days
  • Meat (horses): 63 days

Available in 100 ml glass vials.

 

This product is classified as orange under Antibiotic Judicious Use Guidelines for the New Zealand Veterinary Profession.
