Vibrostrep™ is an antibiotic injection containing streptomycin. It’s used to treat bacterial infections in cattle, sheep and pigs e.g. Vibriosis (Campylobacteriosis).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

  • Cows for Bovine vibrosis: infuse 2-10 ml into the uterus and inject 3-4 ml/100 kg bodyweight by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, daily for 3 days.
  • Bulls for Bovine vibrosis: infuse 2-10 ml into the preputial cavity, massaging in, and inject 3-4 ml/100 kg bodyweight by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, daily for 3 days.
  • Pigs, sheep and cattle for vibriosis (campylobacteriosis), leptospirosis, actinobacillosis (woody tongue) and other infections caused by organisms susceptible to streptomycin and dihydrostreptomycin: inject 3-4 ml/100 kg bodyweight by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, daily for 3 days.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS

It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds.

  • Milk: 72 hours (6 milkings)
  • Meat: 30 days

This product is classified as orange under Antibiotic Judicious Use Guidelines for the New Zealand Veterinary Profession.
