Modified live viral core vaccine for dogs
The best protection against many viral diseases is vaccination. In dogs Parvovirus, Distemper and Hepatitis are all potentially fatal. Vaccination is an extremely safe and highly effective way to prevent these illnesses.
Virbac’s dog core vaccine, Canigen DHA2PPi, is a modified live viral vaccine. These are the most up to date technology, providing strong and long-lasting immunity without the need for adjuvants. Adjuvants are immune stimulants that need to be added into killed vaccines for them to be effective, and they are also the cause of most adverse events associated with vaccines, such as pain and swelling at the site of injection.
Parvo in particular is an extremely serious disease, being highly infectious, very common, expensive to treat and severely life-threatening. Not only does vaccinating your dog help prevent it from getting this horrible disease, but it can also help stop your dog spreading the disease to other dogs.
Dogs 8 weeks of age and over should be vaccinated twice at an interval of 1 month.
Puppies under 8 weeks should be vaccinated three times at an interval of 3 – 4 weeks.
A booster vaccination is recommended one year after primary vaccination.
